  • details of your employer, your employment and your job title;
  • your industry;
  • images of you;
  • dietary requirements;
  • your age and/or date of birth;
  • your demographic information, such as postcode;
  • your preferences and/or opinions;
  • information you provide to us through surveys you can choose to participate in;
  • additional personal information that you provide to us, directly or indirectly, through your use of our Site, associated applications, associated social media platforms and/or accounts from which you permit us to collect information; and

If you are an attendee

  • your name and your contact details: We need your name and your contact details to register you as an attendee of an event you have bought a ticket for, are offered complimentary participation, or expressed interest in. We also use your contact details to send you updates regarding the event you are attending (whether in-person or online), to notify you of upcoming events and to provide you with information we think might be relevant or of interest to you. Where you consent or as may be otherwise permitted by law, we may also share your contact details with other event attendees and sponsors of the event;
  • your bio, images of you and employment details: We use these details to create a profile for you. Where you consent, we may also share these details with other event attendees and sponsors of an event. We may also use this information to tailor information to you, so that it is relevant for your particular industry, speciality or employment area;
  • your preferences and opinions: We ask for your preferences and opinions to be able to tailor information for you. We also ask for your preferences so we can tailor our event to you, to the extent possible. For example, where we provide catering, we may ask for your catering preferences so we can ensure our refreshments meet your needs;

 

If you are representative of a sponsor or an exhibitor

  • your name, your contact details and details about your business: If you are an exhibitor, we collect your contact details and details about your business so we can register you for an event and inform people about your business, such as in marketing material advertising an event. We will also use your contact details to let you know if an event is coming up that you may be interested in;

 

Individuals generally

  • information you provide us through customer surveys or feedback: We constantly strive to improve our services. Where you provide us with information through surveys or feedback generally, we’ll use this information to improve our service; and
  • other uses of information: We also use information for internal record keeping and administrative purposes, for analytics, market research and business development, including to operate and improve our Site, associated applications and associated social media platforms and to comply with our legal obligations and resolve any disputes that we may have.

  • third party service providers for the purpose of enabling them to provide their services, including (without limitation) event registration sites, webinar providers, IT service providers, ticketing providers, data storage, web-hosting and server providers, marketing or advertising providers, professional advisors and payment systems operators, sponsors;

  • anyone to whom our business or assets (or any part of them) are, or may (in good faith) be, transferred;

You acknowledge that some third parties may not be regulated by the Privacy Act and the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act and if any such third party engages in any act or practice that contravenes the Australian Privacy Principles, it would not be accountable under the Privacy Act and you will not be able to seek redress under the Privacy Act.

 

How we treat personal information that is also sensitive information

Sensitive information is a sub-set of personal information that is given a higher level of protection under the Australian Privacy Principles. Sensitive information means information relating to your racial or ethnic origin, political opinions, religion, trade union or other professional associations or memberships, philosophical beliefs, sexual orientation, sexual practices or sex life, criminal records, health information or biometric information.

We will not collect sensitive information about you without first obtaining your consent.

Provided you consent, your sensitive information may only be used and disclosed for purposes directly relating to the primary purpose for which the sensitive information was collected.

We are committed to ensuring that the personal information we collect is secure.
